Crowdfunding Campaign Overview

Historic South Atlanta was once a thriving community of educational professionals that now suffers from a poverty level of 43%. It is our belief that a vibrant business community is essential to a healthy neighborhood. Metro Merge will utilize this youth media project to accomplish its mission to fight poverty by strengthening local businesses, specifically among youth.

We’re super excited about this opportunity to launch a community-focused media production company where we will equip youth with entrepreneurial skills in media content creation and distribution for social impact. This initiative is part of our overall commitment to fight poverty by growing small businesses and creating jobs. Specifically teens will have the opportunity to:

  • Work behind the scenes on TV programs
  • Produce video projects for clients
  • Plan and coordinate media related events
  • Develop and manage marketing campaigns

The video that you see at the top was recorded, edited, and narrated all by our local youth. This is a great example of what they can do with the right resources and guidance.

What We Need & What You Get

We need $20,000 to launch this media production company. Here’s what your donations will pay for:

  • Cameras and equipment: $5000
  • Computers and software: $2500
  • Office space rent and utilities: $5000
  • Marketing and outreach: $2500
  • Staffing and operations: $5000

The Impact

Studies show approximately 70% of students want to start their own business, but less than 30% receive the training they need to launch a successful business. Entrepreneurial training among youth has also been proven to increase interpersonal skills, academic achievement, and social responsibility, and decrease risky behavior.

We realize youth are drawn to particular industries, such as media, technology, sports, and music. This initiative will allow them not just to be consumers, but to be creators of content, jobs, and opportunities for themselves and others.
